If you have ever seen a construction built around you and you noticed the thin pipe kind of steel bars in the concrete that’s the TMT Bar. Here, Fe is the symbol of Iron, and the number next to it represents the Yield Strength of steel. Plus the letter ‘D’ denotes Ductility and those TMT bars having that letter, in the end, feature good elongation percentage.

For example –

In Fe-415 and Fe-500, Fe represents Iron, and 415 and 500 denotes the respective yield strength in N/mm2.

Similarly, in Fe-415 D and Fe-500 D, Fe means Iron, 415, and 500 means their respective strength, and D stands for Ductility.
